Pyramidions & the Circlet Quest

Quick answer

Pyramidions are the Mysterious Update's main collectible — 30 of them. The quest unlocks at 110 stars (v2.6a; it was 120 before). First you need the black circlet on Serpent's Stack: gather the eight red fragments by warping clones onto summon tiles.

Pyramidions are the Mysterious Update's 30-piece collectible hunt — the game's post-game endgame, guarded by a readable-wall gimmick, a star gate, and one of the strangest community puzzles in recent memory.

Bard- went 120-for-120, then wrote: the 30 pyramidion puzzles are on another level —

The entry ticket: the circlet

You cannot see the hunt until you can read the walls. That starts with the circlet on Serpent's Stack — the far-western snake island — where a clone-assist sequence (warping your clone onto the summon tiles to gather the eight red fragments) assembles it. With the circlet in hand, wall murals across the isles resolve into the game's glyph language (secrets guide covers the alphabet; the "Glyph Dictionary" on Steam is the picture reference).

Once the crown-layer is active, pyramidion chatter appears in two forms:

  • Wall clues — glyph phrases pointing at a location and an action.
  • Black sparkles — the same "there is one here" shimmer the game uses for stars, but dark. If you see them on a screen, a pyramidion is nearby.

The gate

The hunt wants 110 stars in the current patch (v2.6a lowered this from 120 — one of the update's late-game changes). Practically, that means finishing most of the star sweep first; see the 100% guide for counts and the walkthrough for the route.

The sleeping meteorites (and the Lost Landing trail)

Part of the hunt overlaps with the game's notorious sleep puzzle — a meta layer the community cracked through cross-save cooperation:

  1. Unlock the spiral teleport network by pushing boxes along the spirals on each major island.
  2. Unlock the 6th teleport pattern by tracing the moss-writing pattern found at Lost Landing B-1.
  3. Warp to Lost Landing A-0, where a 4-symbol puzzle (randomised per quadrant) opens access to a meteorite and unlocks the full 12-symbol version.
  4. The 12-symbol puzzle points at twelve spots across the four main islands — at each, you must sleep (idle) on one exact tile. Off by even one tile, nothing appears.
  5. Where each revealed rune goes is randomised per save, but the valid sleeping spots are identical across saves — and pushing all 12 rune boxes correctly at Lost Landing A-3 yields a second meteorite through community cooperation.

The twelve confirmed sleeping spots:

IslandKey spotStar spotHidden-star spot
Stoney CliffsE2D3Cave E2
Tidal ReefC3E3D2
Raging VolcanoA1E3D4
Frozen SpireD4E1E1 (left is the hidden star, right the normal)

The obscure logic, stated plainly: key spots are nearest the area's entrance, star spots are the island's only dual-elemental puzzle room, and hidden-star spots are the ones needing a special ability to reach.

FAQ

How many pyramidions are there? Thirty — matching the three achievement tiers: Insight (10), Illumination (20), Enlightenment (30).

Do pyramidions change the ending? They are part of the update-era 100% and the extra ending themes prize; the main story finale does not require them.

Is it worth doing blind? The community consensus (see the quote at the top of this page) is warm but honest: the wall logic is learnable, the sleep spots are not — bring the table above.
